Lexus side view cameras look unbelievable

The framework has been adopted in July 2016, and Lexus is the first automaker to make use of the ruling in the Land of the Rising Sun. A new Digital Outer Mirror option will debut on the Lexus ES in the Japanese market this October, and it uses exterior cameras and screens inside the auto to replace the traditional side mirror.

The system automatically enhances the corresponding area―left, right or behind―when the turn signals are activated, or when the transmission is put into reverse.

The new camera-based rearview mirrors on the Japanese-market 2019 Lexus ES 300h.

The feed from the new side camera's will be displayed inside on two 5-inch displays that sit on the ES' a-pillars.

. They provide enhanced views of the area around the auto at night and in inclement weather.

The system's small cameras result in better forward visibility (no large side mirrors to block the view) and reduction of wind noise.

The Yomiuri ShimbunToyota Motor Corp. has announced that it would install digital outer mirrors in place of sideview mirrors in its Lexus brand's new ES model to be released in late October.

The development of cars without conventional side view mirrors has been proposed for some time now due to their number of advantages. The cameras also are shaped so that they won't be obscured by rain or snow.
