Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Marcus Rashford, says Gareth Southgate

According to The Sun, Marcus Rashford wants to stay at Manchester United for the rest of the season, but he could leave next summer, if he isn't given game time, and Everton must keep tabs on his progress.

Lukaku, who has 43 goals in 77 games for his country, scored three times in Belgium's recent worldwide victories over Scotland and Iceland.

Some feel the 20-year-old, who has struggled into the starting XI at Old Trafford, is starting to show a different side to his game, and Southgate has now hailed his development.

Trying to dampen his frustration at not being a regular starter for his club was partly why Southgate played him in both of England's recent fixtures.

"Some of the step-overs and things Ronaldo was doing at that age [were remarkable], but Ronaldo wasn't converting them into the same number of goals".

"He has still played a lot of football, although maybe not the continuous starts and I'm really pleased for him that he leaves here full of confidence". There is huge competition for places at his club so you can understand that. Possibly Everton is the sort of club you are looking at, just below the top six, for someone like Rashford, similar to what Lukaku did. Have your say in the comments section below. Jose thinks the world of Marcus.

"To get two goals this week, two really good finishes, is really important for him".

"They have a hard job to do and they have big squads at the top six, with huge competition for places". "They understand it is hard to pick players if we are seven, eight weeks into the season and they are not playing", Southgate said.

"His confidence will be boosted I'm sure, two goals against top-quality opposition in both games. We know how exciting he is, we know that he's going to be a top player", Southgate told Sky Sports.

Rashford will go back to United and compete for a starting berth against Watford on Saturday with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, while the Red Devils will play a Champions League match against Young Boys in Switzerland the following Wednesday.
