Unai Emery sends message to board over Aaron Ramsey contract

Unai Emery sends message to board over Aaron Ramsey contract

The situation alerted Arsenal with Sky Italia journalist Gianluza Di Marzio claiming earlier this month that the Gunners were in pole position to sign Gomes after Unai Emery had identified him as a summer target.

Arsenal have confirmed their second signing in as many days in the shape of France Under-20 global Matteo Guendouzi from Ligue 2 side Lorient.

"I want to know with my direct opinion, with my direct conversations with the player".

Gomes may be an excellent replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who could leave the Emirates after a long adventure at Arsenal which started in 2008.

"I have information on the players for the club, from the people around me". Maybe we can bring in one if there's a very good possibility for them to help us, but the club has done a great job of signing new players and I am happy.

Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Matteo Guendouzi and Stephan Lichtsteiner have all joined, while Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Per Mertesacker are among those to have moved on - although the latter remains with the Gunners as academy manager. "Only if he is a big opportunity".

"I want to establish myself here, which would be wonderful".

"The big clubs don't close the [door] or the moment to sign a new player". Then, we are looking at, looking for, who are the players whose personality is the best in the dressing room. We signed the players who we needed.

"Each coach needs to know the players. I said to Ivan, Raul and Sven [Gazidis, Sanllehi and Mislintat, the collective dealing with contracts and transfers] he's an important player for me".

"I know him [N'Zonzi] but we didn't do movement for him", he said.

"We want to keep the respect for these players and to find the captain and choose very well the best player for that".
