Sure Sounds Like Manny Machado Will Be Traded to the Dodgers Soon

Trade buzz surrounding Orioles infielder Manny Machado is at an all-time high right now, and according to multiple reports he's likely to be dealt before play resumes coming out of the All-Star break.

Nightengale reports that the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers are still in talks with the Orioles for Machado, so the situation is fluid and could change rapidly.

Machado has been dealing with constant trade rumors since the start of spring training.

The Dodgers emerged as the favorite to land Machado earlier this week. Escobar has played shortstop in addition to third base, but there's some doubt about whether he still has the ability to be an everyday shortstop.

It didn't take Machado long to weigh in about the rumored trade, either. Machado is having a career year at the plate in 2018, with a slash line of.315/.387.575 and 24 home runs.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported the Machado trade was "happening", with 21-year-old Class AA outfielder Yusniel Diaz the centerpiece of the swap.

"It was a tremendous honor to wear this uniform". They gave me the chance this season to go to shortstop. "They drafted me, I came up with them, played with them".

"Nothing, nothing", the star shortstop said when asked what he has been told by the Baltimore Orioles or his agents. But for now, I'm just trying to worry about today, not try to worry about anything else. I'm just anxious about the game. The organization has done everything, so if this is the last time, hopefully I treated them well and did everything I could for this organization. "There will be a time and place where I'll be here again, answering questions if it happens or it doesn't".
