Popular Free-To-Play Shooter 'Warframe' Is Heading To Nintendo Switch

Digital Extremes and Panic Button have been quiet regarding the details of the port, but we can at least expect it to resemble the console variants to a fair degree.

Warframe was already one of the most successful free-to-play games on the market, and after that preview, I suspect it will find even more fans. The wide variety of tasks players can explore in "Fortuna" will be coming to the game this fall, though there's no current concrete release date beyond that.

However, the massively popular Fortnite has more than likely played a huge role in the acceptance of free-to-play games.

Warframe now has more than 38 million registered players worldwide, and if you're not familiar with the title, here's a bit more detail.

Warframe is a third person sci-fi shooter, where the warframes are alien armour that now come in 35 different varieties.

If you're interested in trying out "Warframe" ahead of the new content's debut, it's now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Warframe is also known for it flexible mod system, the ability to join clans, and massive open worlds.

Announced during TennoCon, the company's annual Warframe convention, the port is expected to bring full access to the game complete with its 35 Warframe exoskeletons, hundreds of weapons, and thousands of customisation options - which are available both through gameplay and through microtransactions.

He went on to say: "Whether you're forging ahead with a high-level suit or leveling up a new one, Warframe repeats enemies, environments, and scenarios too frequently".
