Pacquiao calls out Mayweather

Before making a return bout in the United States, newly crowned WBA welterweight champ Manny Pacquiao may have to settle first his reported tax debts with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Plus reported that the Filipino boxing legend owed the United States government around $20 million in taxes from his previous bouts held in Las Vegas under Top Rank Promotions.

Pacquiao is 39, but he insists the way he trained for the Matthysse is sustainable.

After his seventh-round technical knockout win against Matthysse at the Axiata Arena, Pacquiao said he hopes to return to the United States for his title defense.

"If boxing is not my passion, I would not fight again", Pacquiao said.

Matthysse, who won 36 out of 39 matches by knockout, said Pacquiao was a "great fighter, a great legend", adding that he planned to take a break.

While the Filipino is looking to finish with some throwback victories, his performances against Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto, among others, mean that he will always be regarded as one of the best fighters of all time, with nearly 70 bouts on his CV.

Khan has been mentioned as a potential future opponent with both men keen to return to boxing's main stage.

Fortune said he would love Pacquiao to bring his act to Wembley Stadium in London against Briton Amir Khan for his next fight.

"English are great boxing fans, and they love, love, love Manny". "Pacquiao to make a big comeback", said Romero, listed as the richest member of Congress and one of several lawmakers who watched the fight live.

Eleven-time world champion Manny Pacquiao has revealed Amir Khan is an option for his next opponent.

"Mayweather? If he decides to go back to boxing then that is the time we are going to call the shots", he told reporters after his victory.

"I knocked him down and that's a bonus for being patient in the fight, and working hard in training". "If he wants to come back, let's do a second one", he said.

Three-weight world champion Terence Crawford is another possible money-spinning bout, as is a rematch with Horn, who wrested the WBO belt from Pacquiao a year ago.

Khan fights Samuel Vargas in his next outing, while Top Rank boss Bob Arum admitted he would need to sit down with Pacquiao before deciding who his fighter should face next.
