NYC rendezvous for Trump and Kim

You haven't seen nuclear - you haven't seen the nuclear detonations.

The State Department said Pompeo would arrive Friday on his third visit to Pyongyang in three months.

It's unclear whether Pyongyang would agree to that.

There is no word on whether North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, an avid basketball fan, will attend any of the games.

But Bolton, appearing on CBS'"Face the Nation", said on Sunday that, almost three weeks after the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, and Trump met in Singapore, no such declaration has arrived.

During a week-long trip beginning on July 5 from Pyongyang, as part of his continued consultations with North Korea on the denuclearisation issue, the top diplomat will have stops in Tokyo, Hanoi, Abu Dhabi and Brussels, his spokesperson said on Sunday.

Kim and Trump signed a joint agreement during the June 12 summit reaffirming North Korea's commitment to denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula, but critics have noted North Korea often makes this promise without taking action. "There is absolutely unequivocal evidence that they are trying to deceive the United States". The officials insisted on anonymity to discuss sensitive assessments about a country that has always been one of the most hard targets for spy agencies to penetrate.

The claim, made by White House National Security Adviser John R. Bolton during a round of TV interviews Sunday, comes as the Trump administration is quietly accelerating negotiations with North Korea in what analysts describe as the crucial next step that will make or break the denuclearization agreement struck at the Singapore summit.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters today that she would not "confirm or any deny any intelligence reports", but "what I can tell you is that we're continuing to make progress".

"First, they would want to say that they have lots of intelligence on North Korea and that its relations with the US would go back to the past if it doesn't take practical disarmament steps", Nam said.

U.S. President Donald Trump walks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during the recent U.S. They also say the US has an unrealistic approach to North Korea's denuclearization.

The result has left much of the hard work to Pompeo. Hur, a former guard whose two sons are among the players who travelled to the North, talked about his friendship with retired North Korean player Ri Myong Hun, a 7-foot-9 (2.35-meter) centre who anchored the country's national team during the 1990s and early 2000s.

"I am sure that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be discussing this with the North Koreans in the near future about really how to dismantle all of their [weapons of mass destruction] and ballistic missile programs in a year", Bolton said.

The accuracy and completeness of the inventory, which the US will able to partially verify based on spy satellite images and other intelligence, will tell whether North Korea is serious about giving up the nukes. That is where all six of North Korea's nuclear tests had been carried out.

Pompeo is expected to land in North Korea Thursday for meetings with high-ranking officials on how to move towards diminishing tensions between Washington and Pyongyang.

He said the one-year program the proposing would cover all the North's chemical and biological weapons, nuclear programs and ballistic missiles. This would be something of a reversal of a normal denuclearization process in which inspections of nuclear facilities and sites come before a verifiable dismantling of nuclear assets. Kim may want to give up his weapons but the generals may not. He said North Korea's weapons program could largely be ended in a year.

On Sunday, Trump was asked if he trusted Kim's pledge.

"Many good conversations with North Korea-it is going well!"

State-run media said Kim was accompanied on both days by Kim Song Nam, Vice Director of the International Department of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party.
