Kenedy to have Newcastle medical ahead of season-long loan from Chelsea

The deal, however, is thought to be another loan deal after Chelsea were believed to have quoted £30 million to make the deal permanent.

Newcastle have held off a number of clubs to secure Kenedy's signature, who is said to be "happy" about his return to the club, having enjoyed his loan spell last season.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at St James' Park and played remarkably well during his time there, impressing sufficiently to be linked with moves to both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

He made 13 appearances for the Magpies during the course of his loan spell at the club last term, scoring twice and providing two assists for his team-mates.

Kenedy has been a Chelsea since 2015, moving to London from Brazilian side Fluminese. He still has two years left on his original deal which ends in the summer of 2020.

Kenedy's move reportedly looks set to be confirmed before a departure of Conte is, with it thought that Maurizio Sarri will take over at Stamford Bridge. Kenedy will spend the 2018/19 campaign as a Newcastle player.

Currently, Kenedy has returned to Chelsea training ahead of their pre-season with Antonio Conte presiding over matters as his situation still remains unclear.
