J.B. Smoove Joins ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

Far From Home cast is shaping up to be prettaaay, prettaaay, pretty good. But who is he playing?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe just got better since the announcement that J.B. Smoove will be joining the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The outlet noted, "It is now unclear what role Smoove will be playing in the superhero follow-up". While Smoove's particular role has been unconfirmed by Sony, Deadline adds that it's expected to be a "lead in the ensemble".

As for a premise, the movie is set to take place after next year's thus far untitled Avengers film, with Peter Parker/Spider-Man on vacation in Europe with his friends (hence the title).

Smoove is a talented comedic performer, popping up in movies like Mr. Deeds, Hall Pass, Think Like a Man, and Uncle Drew.

Smoove's addition will make him the first new actor confirmed for the film. Spider-Man: Homecoming did a great job of collecting talented comedians in very small roles.

His involvement in "Spider-Man: Far From Home" is timed to fit in with the tenth season of "Curb..." and though Sony Pictures would not confirm the "Spider-Man" casting news, Deadline's sources indicated he was being brought in for a leading role. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing.

Zendaya and Marisa Tomei will be reprising their roles alongside Michael Keaton, who is returning as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture as well, which could potentially mean we're finally getting The Sinister Six onscreen.
