IHOB was faking it - it’s back to pancakes for IHOP

It's to celebrate the restaurant chain's 60th birthday.

Remember all that drama over IHOP changing its name to IHOb?

On Twitter, the company said, "That's right, IHOP!".

IHOb has officially returned to calling itself IHOP - and admitted the change was all part of a publicity stunt.

Pancakes and burgers coexist in harmony. The promotional campaign, which drew widespread criticism on social media, invited fans to guess what the "B" stood for, ultimately revealing that "IHOb" reflected a new focus on a line of "Ultimate Steakburgers".

Prior to the IHOb campaign, 19% of United States adults said they had talked about the chain in the past two weeks. Hopefully no one got too attached to the alternative "IHOb" name in the process. And, IHOP never took pancakes off the menu. They said it was a way to turn their focus away from breakfast and to its enhanced burger menu.

Or maybe we were just gullible. That's what we're after: "Giving more people more reasons to come to IHOP more often".
