How to Watch England vs. Croatia

Gareth Southgate has warned that England's semi-final against Croatia will be his side's toughest test at the World Cup so far.

Lovren has featured in all five of Croatia's World Cup games so far and played the entirely of the team's two knockout fixtures with Denmark and Russian Federation that went to a penalty shootout after 120 minutes of play.

Midfielder Ivan Rakitic thinks the spirit that carried the team through those tense knockout matches will stand it in good stead against England, which is hoping to beat two European nations at a World Cup for the first time since 1982. We chatted to our United Kingdom correspondent Olly Barratt.

"But any team in a World Cup semi-final is going to find the energy and going to find the motivation".

One incredible fan who donned a headscarf bearing her team's colours went viral on social media after being snapped cheering her boys home.

Croatia can hurt teams further forward, though.

It is the first time since 1998 that Croatia have reached this stage. They put in another display of that ilk on Tuesday.

While they haven't played with the attacking potential they're capable of, France have been measured and professional throughout this World Cup.

The contribution of Raheem Sterling remains a polarising debate in England, with the Manchester City player without a goal for his country since October 2015, but Southgate says the forward's contribution in Russian Federation has been essential.

The crunch-match to decide who will face France in the final takes place tonight at 7pm.

Adorned in the red and white of Croatia, thousands have watched Modric and his teammates advance through to the semi-finals.

Alli was part of the England squad who crashed out of Euro 2016 with defeat by Iceland and he said Southgate had encouraged the players to confront that memory before the tournament.

In delirious scenes in Paris, fans let off fire crackers and released smoke flares - and predicted they would win a second World Cup. I don't really ever get nervous anyway. "We're really proud in the style that we've played, with the intelligence that we've played, and that we've performed under pressure and dealt with hard situations in games where we've had to wait until the last minute to score, we've had to recover from conceding in last minute, we've been through extra time, penalties". "We'll repeat that this Sunday", said one supporter, Sebastien.
