Gareth Bale to Man United takes a new twist

Manchester United's hopes of signing Gareth Bale this summer are set to end in disappointment because the Wales star is set to stay at Real Madrid, according to reports.

Following Real's Champions League final victory over Liverpool in May, Bale admitted that he was open to leaving the club in search of more game time.

Bale has enhanced his reputation as one of the best attackers in world football since joining Madrid from Tottenham in 2013 as he's provided 88 goals and 57 assists to help Los Blancos win a whole host of trophies including 4 Champions League's and 1 La Liga title over the past five years.

Former Spain manager, Julen Lopetegui has since replaced Zidane and Guardian reports that the Welshman has been told he's not for sale following Ronaldo's departure.

Real are looking to sign two out of Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard, Neymar and Robert Lewandowski, with Bale being added to the transfer list if they succeed.

He struggled to break into the team last season, as former manager, Zinedine Zidane preferred the likes of Isco and Marco Asensio to him.

Jose Mourinho has always been an admirer of Bale but with this latest development, United will he advised to look at other targets as we look to mount a consolidated attempt at winning major honours come next season.

Premier League giants Manchester admirers United and Jose Mourinho were monitoring Bale's situation closely but have reportedly pulled out of the race after Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Juventus earlier this week.

Lopetegui is understood to have told Bale how much he admires him, and how is he looking forward to working with him in the forthcoming campaign.
