'Fortnite' Season 5 Adds New Locations, ATK Vehicle And Rifts

Shotgun spread is now consistent with no random variation, the suppressed SMG has been amended to fall in line with other SMGs and the hunting rifle aim assist has been reduced to match other sniper rifles.

Heavy shotguns now fire ten pellets rather than five, but the overall damage of the shot is unchanged, meaning that each individual pellet now does half the damage it did before, but there are twice as many. There's a lot to go over in the patch notes but some of the most notable new additions to the game will be the new All Terrain Kart (ATK) and Rifts that will be dotted around the battle royale map. For season 5, Epic is changing things up adding new locations called Paradise Palms and Lazy Links, and there are new unnamed POIs too across the island.

One of the biggest gameplay adjustments involves the shotgun, with the development team creating a short amount of time between switching between two of the weapon.

The Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 challenges are similar to what we've seen in the past. In order to complete those challenges you'll need to head to Snobby Shores and seek out seven chests, which you should be able to spot pretty easily. This means that if you're really close to a new reward and the new season is imminent, you won't lose your chance to get that skin you spent the whole month trying to earn. For the Nintendo Switch, Epic games has also included motion controls which can be adjusted in the Settings menu. They can be toggled on and off, but will allow aiming by moving the controllers.

The new season has also been preceded by Fortnite items, including Llamas and the Durr Burger sign appearing in real life locations around the world. Until then, it's time to get refreshing that login button.
