Epic Announces $8M Summer Skirmish Series - Fortnite

That's because it's just announced the formation of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish series, a set of tournament-style events that will pit some of the best and most recognizable Fortnite players in the world against each other to get a share of the $8 million prize pot.

"Fortnite" has become a cultural phenomenon and mega-hit for video game developer Epic Games, boasting 125 million players around the world.

In the meantime why not make the most of this extended downtime to take a look at some new Fortnite Season 5 skins and cosmetics which have leaked in the last hour. What do you hope to see next from the king of Battle Royale games?

Epic Games has announced this weekend marks the start of an 8-week series of Fortnite competitions. Whatever's coming, we'll find out soon.

The war between the two tip games in the battle royale genre has been going on for less than a year now, but that does not mean that it has not been a fierce one.

Epic Games will turn Fortnite offline at 9am BST (4am ET) this morning as they roll in the latest content update.

Here's everything we know about Fortnite Season 5 so far. It'll be interesting to see if Epic sticks to this date considering the delays we've seen on the rollout of specific features such as Playground LTM.
