Croatia Sacks Coach Ahead of Semi Final Clash with England

Dozens of English soccer fans began heading for Moscow in a last-minute rush on Tuesday in an effort to be part of a potentially historic sporting moment as England take on Croatia in the World Cup semi-finals.

On the eve of the game, England manager Southgate said he hoped the team's successful run at the tournament would help unify the country after "some hard moments" in recent years - an apparent reference to Brexit.

"We've been one of the youngest teams in the tournament, the least experienced, but we were never quite sure how far this team could go", said Southgate.

But British Airways, which has seen a 700 percent increase in searches for flights to Russian Federation on its website since England's penalty shootout win over Colombia last week, has now released hundreds more seats on Moscow flights by using bigger planes. "Come on England - it's coming home!".

"For us as a team, it's another chance to create a small piece of history".

Southgate's side have been buoyed by more than just an anthemic pop song, though. "As an England fan you want to see good football and the team being ruthless in both boxes and they certainly have been that".

England women are now trying to qualify for next year's World Cup.

England is ranked 12th in the world and Croatia 20th.

England will play France if they reach the final and World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks was in confident mood about the team's chances of victory. "It's up to us now which games we play in".

Several people were photographed on top of the ambulance. Everyone has been out on the streets celebrating what we've achieved and that is a great source of pride for us. "We've got to this point because the collective has been so strong", Southgate said after the quarterfinal win over Sweden on Saturday.

Subasic suffered a tight hamstring towards the end of Croatia's quarter-final win over hosts Russian Federation and was unable to take goal-kicks before the tie went to penalties.
