Actor George Clooney injured in accident

NBC news tweeted: "Sardinia hospital in Olbia tells NBCNews George Clooney has already been discharged following collision between the scooter he was travelling on and a vehicle". Clooney, 57, is serving as director and executive producer on the project, and also plays the role of Scheisskopf.

A CAT scan revealed no broken bones, just minor trauma to one knee, Italian news agency ANSA said.

George was doing 60 miles per hour when a vehicle suddenly pulled in front of him. Clooney has since been released and will resume filming in a couple of days, per CNN. Fortunately, the legendary actor has been released from the hospital and is now recovering, and may even be returning to work within the week.

Clooney told a friend it's "good to be alive" after the road accident.

This is not Clooney's first time in a motorcycle crash.

Cicognani confirmed that George was, fortunately, 'not seriously injured'.

Back in 2007, he was driving a rented Harley-Davidson with then-girlfriend Sarah Larson when they were sideswiped on a narrow road in New Jersey.

Calls and emails to Clooney's spokesman in regards to the accident weren't immediately returned, according to Associated Press. Clooney broke a rib. It's unclear when George will return to filming. Recent reports had stated that the two have been joined by the actor's parents as well.

The driver of the Mazda involved in the crash was identified as Albert Sciancaledore, according to People. "He was probably enjoying a wonderful afternoon, and as soon as he crested the hill and got this lovely view Manhattan, he gets into this accident".
