Weather: Low rain chance brings in warm work week

Weather: Low rain chance brings in warm work week

Here in the Lehigh Valley, the weather service says it will be cool today with temperatures generally in the low 70s. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s all week.

Tue: High: 90 Mostly to partly cloudy; overnight storms likely.

Tomorrow night: Increasing clouds. While that's great news for the outdoors activities, we could us some rain around here, as the last 6 weeks have been quite dry overall. Gusty winds, hail, vivid lightning and very heavy rain are the main threats.

Southwest Kansas will get its turn on Tuesday as strong storms may develop. With a wave of low pressure along a front to our south, shower and storm chances increase after 4 p.m. or so. Highs both days will be in the low 90s.

The strong to severe storms will be moving through the mountains this afternoon into the evening hours. Then as we head toward Wednesday with highs still in the upper 80s-low 90s we'll have a slight chance of storms mainly in the afternoon as the warm front moves back up to the north although we can't completely rule out storms in the morning. The rain chance decreases to 30 percent tonight.

We will finally start to see a pattern break by Tuesday and Wednesday with dropping rain chances.
