US, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup finals

The soccer showpiece will return to the USA for the first time since 1994 after gaining 134 votes, while Morocco got 65 at the FIFA Congress in Moscow, where the 2018 tournaments starts on Thursday.

The United States will be a host nation for soccer's World Cup in 2026, and Jacksonville could be among the destinations for the world's top players to tune up before the tournament kicks off.

"They have at their disposal not only the financial resources but, more importantly, the policing and security resources to make sure we do that well", he said.

Lenarduzzi said with the World Cup expanding to 48 teams for the 2026 challenge, there is "no reason" why all three host teams should not be given a place.

"We can focus on the game".

Games for the 2018 World Cup will be played at 12 stadiums across Russian Federation, with locations spread more than 1,500 miles apart from east to west and more than 1,000 miles from north to south.

The city is working with the Edmonton Eskimos and other community groups on a master plan to upgrade Commonwealth Stadium.

"I would like to thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and my good friend His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh for your tremendous support of the United bid", said Cordeiro.

"The fact that we have the opportunity to be a part of a World Cup that's still eight years away, and benefit from the buildup to 2026... the sport is in a growth spurt right now, at the professional and the registration level", he said.

"There's a tremendous amount of ancillary events that go on around the World Cup", said Rick Catlett, president and chief executive officer of Gator Bowl Sports.

Alphonso Davies, the soft-spoken 17-year-old who has turned heads ever since he joined the professional ranks two years ago, was selected to represent Canada on the podium as the North American bid made its final push. But FIFA President Gianni Infantino suggested the split of games could change.

The plan is that Canada and Mexico would each host 10 matches, while 60 matches would be played in the United States.

The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation will hold a press conference at 9:30 Wednesday morning to discuss the 2026 World Cup.

Meaning even if you know nothing at all about the game, the sport, the event, you can still sound like an absolute expert by confidently telling your friends that the victor will definitely be one of those who've either been there and done it or won it before.

"We are going to be ready".
