Spider-Man Spinoff Silk In Development At Sony

Sony also has the animated Miles Morales Spider-Man moving, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, coming out in December, which is a stand alone film, and is developing the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming with Marvel, which comes out next Summer.

First introduced in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #1, Cindy Moon has powers similar to Spider-Man. Cindy Moon is a Korean-American high school student in Peter Parker's class who one day just happens to be bitten by the exact same radioactive spider that bit Peter. I'm sold! As far as her powers go, she's not quite an exact copy of Spidey, as she can shoot webs out of her finger-tips, possesses an eidetic memory and has a much stronger Spidey-Sense (called Silk-Sense).

Unlike Peter, however, she is able to generate her own organic webbing.

Sony is working with producer (and former Sony Pictures Entertainment head) Amy Pascal to get the Silk project off the ground. Still, as stated above a Silk movie really does fit in with Sony's comic book movie M.O. Ruben Fleischer's Venom, starring Tom Hardy, will kick off the studio's planned expansion of the Spider-Man franchise in October.

Whip smart, geeky, tough, funny, likeable and nervously cool, Holland made an instant impression in Captain America: Civil War - how good was that fight at Leipzig Airport? - and his arc has been superb to watch throughout Avengers: Infinity War and most notably, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
