Raccoon scales skyscraper in Minnesota

Today, it's all about a racoon who scaled an office building in Minnesota, US.

A raccoon scurries up the side of the UBS Tower in St. Paul, Minn., on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

There's a trap set on the roof, but so far, it's not known if the raccoon has been captured. "We didn't see it and thought, it went away - that's great!" "The best thing is to leave him alone".

Minnesota Public Radio branded the raccoon with the hashtag #mprraccoon, which became the top trend on Twitter.

Late Tuesday night, the raccoon began to slowly descend to the seventeenth floor, according to an MPR reporter.

It's the whole talk of MPR today (follow the #mprraccoon hashtag on social media, and find more coverage at MPR News), but I'm nearly afraid to watch. A maintenance crew tried to offer it an escape route, but the creature - that likely hasn't had water or food for two days - fled to a second building and finally to the UBS skyscraper.

Until we have any further details, we'll just pray for a miracle.

By Tuesday afternoon, the raccoon had its own Twitter account, with its first tweet saying, "I made a big mistake".

The last update about the raccoon's journey was staff from the local fire department were trying to lure it the roof to rescue it.
