PUBG Announces Event Pass, Steam Sale

PUBG Announces Event Pass, Steam Sale

With how much the battle royale game's been talked about in the past, it's not hard to believe the stats shared by the company in a Steam post that detailed the most recent milestone accomplishments. Called the Event Pass, this new system solves the game's severe progression problem, while also rewarding players more regularly with cosmetic content. Event Passes will launch hand-in-hand with the Sanhok map on June 22. The battle royale styled game was barely released before Fortnite, although Epic Games' title is far more popular. Some content is available to all players, but a majority of the content is locked behind a premium version of the Pass.

The Event Pass sounds very similar, in theory, to Fortnite's Battle Pass. It'll also include "dozens" of daily and weekly missions, some of which are specific to the tropical-themed map.

The post adds: "If you haven't paid for the pass, you can temporarily unlock numerous items (and earn one special item permanently)".

If you want to unlock content from Sanhok Event Pass permanently, you'll need to buy into it.

As mentioned, the Event Pass will be exclusive to the PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for the time being. Unfortunately, it's still full price on Xbox One.

Exact details about pass content, and its price, will be announced prior the Friday launch.

Players who don't purchase the Event pass will still get to take cracks at these missions, but they will only receive temporary access to the cosmetic items with the exception of a single special item that will be permanently available once unlocked.

As the announcement pointed out, this is also the flawless time to get some friends in on the battle royale game so that you can round out your squad numbers and drop into the game with a full team.
