Nashville leaders react to news of North America's 2026 World Cup

How many games will Canada get?

Montopoli said it will be 100 per cent natural grass, meaning temporary surfaces will have to be installed in stadiums with artificial turf.

"We're looking forward to putting this soccer city on the world's greatest sporting stage".

Miami and Orlando are among the 23 cities in the running to host matches, and Hard Rock Stadium - built for soccer and known as a host to sold-out global matches - is expected to be selected.

Baltimore and M&T Bank Stadium fared well in FIFA's assessment of potential game venues, and the city is considered the favorite to host the World Cup Team Workshop, which brings together delegations from all 48 competing nations for a pretournament introduction to the World Cup's organization.

"We are honored to be a part of the USA bid package, and we believe Nashville has a legitimate shot at hosting a World Cup event".

The United bid had the strength of existing sports, hotel and transport infrastructure.

Achilles, who belongs to the renowned Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg, today made his first prediction - picking Russian Federation to win over Saudi Arabia in the tournament's opening game on Thursday. The three joint bidders enjoy close relationships with their Concacaf brethren and with CONMEBOL countries, regularly playing South American nations in friendly matches and staging the 2016 Copa America Centenario in conjunction with them.

There is no question that the last four years have been hard for American soccer. They had done presentations for the five other confederations on Monday.

"We will not be ideal but we are looking for uniformity and consistency - but it can not be 100 per cent", said Massimo Busacca, FIFA's head of refereeing.

"Both bids were of a very high quality and we welcome the fact that the bidding process was both open and transparent".

Brazil, China and North Korea were among those to support Morocco.

The evaluation report also offers a "technical scoring" of the two bids, with Morocco getting 274.9 out of 500, compared to the United bid's 402.8 total. There is also no National Football League stadium within Portland that could be used.

The FA was among the first to congratulate the US' joint bid with Mexico and Canada.

Alphonso Davies, the soft-spoken 17-year-old who has turned heads ever since he joined the professional ranks two years ago, was selected to represent Canada on the podium as the North American bid made its final push.

The failed circuit was born out of the excitement of Canada's lone World Cup appearance in 1986, but the CPL has taken the reverse approach by kicking off seven years ahead of the 2026 tournament, with the opportunity to help shape the program ahead of its hosting duties an exciting one.
