Millie Bobby Brown Deletes Twitter After Trolls Create Fake Memes

On Wednesday, Brown deleted her account after the #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown hashtag, which originally cropped up in November, resurfaced.

Many have pointed out that Brown, who was one of the first recipients of MTV's gender-neutral awards a year ago, has always been a vocal supporter of LGBT rights.

This isn't the first time Millie has found herself involved in a Photoshop trend by Internet trolls. With these fake images, she's being bullied, and her likeness is being used to cause pain to the LGBTQ community.

In 2017, Brown received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work as the telekinetic teenager on Stranger Things.

The memes started with a few that said the child actress ran over gay people at Pride and was happy about it. Also, in the same year, she wore an LGBT pin to the MTV Awards. Sartorius has not commented on social media about Brown's account deletion. Others are captioned with much more graphic and vile content.

The reason behind the memes remains unclear, though several Twitter users have claimed they originated as an inside joke for LGBT tweeters.
