Manchester United reportedly won't sell any centre-backs if they sign Alderweireld

Mourinho is prioritising the signing of a centre-back over a full-back and United have ended their interest in Alderweireld's club team-mate Danny Rose.

Toby or not Toby, that is the question Manchester United fans are wondering as conflicting rumours emerged about the possibility of Toby Alderweireld becoming a Red Devil.

Manchester United will be at the front of the queue to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld this summer, according to a report in England.

Jose Mourinho has already brought 19-year-old right back Diogo Dalot in from Porto for £17.4m and it was expected that he would add another full back soon, with Juventus' Alex Sandro and Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe also linked.

Verratti has been a vital part of the PSG side in recent years and has developed in to one of the best midfielders in Europe since moving to Paris from Pescara in 2012 having helped them win a whole host of trophies.

While the club's scouts did at one stage check out the 29-year-old blocker, the MEN said that they decided he isn't what Mourinho need to strengthen his back four and consequently they "are looking at other options".

Rose was rumoured to be a target for Manchester United and it was claimed he was keen to make the move to Old Trafford.

We'll have to wait and see how things develop but Verratti would be a superb addition to the United squad if they could agree a deal with PSG for his signature this summer.
