Jimny 2019 Official Photos, Price, Specs and Release Date

To be very exact, Suzuki planned to go up with this mini-SUV in Tokyo Motor Show in 2018 but leaks from some reliable sources pushed them to unveil the photos of this upcoming vehicle in first place.

As far as the engines are concerned, word on the street is that the Japanese specification of the model will receive a tiny 660cc engine and a bigger 1.5-liter motor.

Suzuki Australia has yet to confirm whether the Jimny, which was first devloped in 1970 and has been hugely popular in Australia during its lifetime, will be offered locally. The bumper-integrated tail lamps is an ode to the classic SUVs while dual-tone exterior colour options add much needed contemporary touch. While the Jimny won't get a diesel in the worldwide market, the Indian version might get the 1.3 DDiS diesel.

For the Indian market, it is expected that the auto will have an engine of 1.0 liter Boosterjet or upcoming 1.5 litre petrol engine as available in Ciaz.

Now the Jimny might be a utilitarian, but it still gets plenty of features like LED headlights, air-conditioning, push-button start and alloy wheels.

Engines are expected to be a small 90bhp four-pot as well as a more lively 1.0 litre turbo three-pot, and although the interior will still be basic and functional it does look a bit more modern. Expect more details once the vehicle is officially launched sometime in July.

Another bone of contention between the two is price.

Apparently, Suzuki's development of the new Jimny has been based around the feedback from existing owners who weren't so fussed about on-road handling, but wanted something that was capable when the going got rough. The wheelbase of newly launched is 2250 mm while that of Jeep Compass is 2636 mm, which means Jimny is best suited for city driving.
