Griezmann: Today isn't the day to discuss my future

After a great deal of uncertainty surrounding Lemar's next club, reports have emerged suggesting the French winger will play his football at the Wanda Metropolitano next season, ostensibly linking up with national teammate Antoine Griezmann as Los Rojiblancos look to challenge the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid for Spain's top honours.

Griezmann was close to closing a move to Barça after months of talks once his release clause dropped to 100 million euros on July 1.

"I'm in agreement that to get back to winning the Champions League we have to have the best players".

It is believed that Griezmann will accept a deal that will make him the club's highest-paid player following a massive campaign by manager Diego Simeone and the rest of the staff urging him to stay.

Seeing how things have come full circle for Griezmann is just lovely and we're eager to see how he performs on the grandest stage of them all, especially considering how electric he was two years back.

Monaco forward Thomas Lemar is set to sign for Atletico Madrid in the coming days. "I know many people were waiting for that but this isn't the right day to do so". That depends on the signing committee and the coach.

"I'm very sorry but today I'm not going to give my decision", he said.

The France forward, who scored 29 goals and created 15 others last season, was strongly linked with Manchester United last summer before a contract tying him to Atletico until 2022 was agreed.
