Leimome Cheeks, 62, has been arrested and charged on two counts of child endangerment for the disturbing incident that took place in Memphis on Saturday evening.

Ms Cheeks can be seen opening the cage doors to the kennels as the children hop out.

She also drove to downtown Memphis, telling police she made stops to check on them periodically.

"Leimome Cheeks was interviewed and admitted to riding from Whitehaven to Collierville with the children in the kennel".

Except there was an extra problem.

The kids reportedly told officials that it was hot in the back of the vehicle, according to Fox 13. Temperatures in the area reached about 35 degrees Celsius.

The woman is being held at the Shelby County Jail.
