Elon Musk: Tesla Roadster to get SpaceX rockets

According to Elon Musk, the Roadster that we all saw was only the base model and that they have plans to offer another package option that will outperform all their rivals.

"The software update is good news", Elazar Advisors' Chaim Siegel was quoted as saying by Reuters, adding the stock was still benefiting from Musk's last week's Model 3 prediction that Tesla will likely hit a "5,000 vehicle week by the end of this month".

Apart from the rockets, no new specs were revealed on his Twitter thread, however Musk did include some of his background history and passion for cars. But this time it was Elon Musk's own Roadster, which was launched into space atop a Falcon Heavy rocket.

"Not saying the next gen Roadster special upgrade package *will* definitely enable it to fly short hops, but maybe...", Musk later added.

"These rocket engines dramatically improve acceleration, top speed, braking & cornering". If you'd rather just have the standard auto, which is still pegged to be capable of 0-60 miles per hour in 1.9 seconds, you'll get to keep those rear seats.

The rocket boosters take the form of a "sophisticated bottle" that fires bursts of high-pressure air out the back of the sports vehicle, the electric-transport news site adds.

The electric vehicle company unveiled the new all-electric Roadster alongside its Semi truck last November. Musk called the new Tesla Roadster a "smackdown" to conventional auto companies, and after taking a look at the specs, I think he has a point.

Spent air from the thrusters would be refilled immediately using the Roadster's batteries to power air pumps, which in lesser electric vehicles may be a reduced range concern. The rear wheels are powered by one motor each, while the front wheels share power from another motor, and all three combine to give the new Roadster 10,000 Nm of torque - frankly ridiculous number.
