E3 2018: New Marvel Spider-Man Footage Shows Some Main Villains

The trailer, which features a decent dose of gameplay, shows Spider-Man and Wraith arriving at The Raft just as Electro breaks many of Spider-Man's enemies out of their cells.

Insomniac Games debuted over seven minutes of new Marvel's Spider-Man gameplay footage (embedded below, watch on a 4K display if you can) during Sony's E3 2018 conference. Things heat up for Spider-Man as numerous Super Villains he has put away over his eight years as Spidey have escaped simultaneously.

Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, intriguing lineup, to say the least.

The trailer opens on a stormy evening at The Raft, a supermax security facility.

Fans get a good glimpse of the game's combat mechanics, as Spider-Man uses objects around him to batter his enemies.

For the last two years, Sony has used E3 as a showcase for its upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive Spider-Man title from Insomniac Games. Just as he's ready to focus on life as Peter, a new villain threatens New York City.

Spider-Man is famous in part because his rogue's gallery is one of the best in comics. We get to see the web swinging mechanic in full action, though it seems to be tied to the Circle button rather than R2 or something more user friendly. It also shows Spidey getting stuck in the bath.

We will have to wait until September 7 to find out the big secret that is sure to play a major role in the game.
