E3 2018: Metal Wolf Chaos XD Announced by Devolver Digital

Previously a Japan-only release for the Xbox in 2004, Devolver Digital announced Metal Wolf Chaos XD, a new version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Devolver have delivered, so we will too - here are some great old games you can still enjoy. The original Xbox title never saw release outside of Japan.

What made this game legendary outside of Japan is its absurd premise. The president use a power armor named Metal Wolf as he fights the enemies. From there, he launches a one-man - err.mech? - campaign to take back his country.

Metal Wolf Chaos XD is a little more than just a port; developer General Arcade is bringing upgraded visuals, a new save system, and reworked controls to get the game ready for a modern audience.

Video game stories from other sites on the web.

The trailer for the game, revealed at Devolver's frankly mad E3 conference, doesn't make a lot of sense, if I'm honest.

The game will feature updated graphics, widescreen format, and the "classic voiceover" that fans of the game have come to love for it's overt dramatic cheesiness.

During Devolver's typically weird press conference, presenter Mahria Zook described Metal Wolf Chaos like this: "this motherfucking legendary piece of cold-rolled wonderful was forged in the most sacred elements of videogame development: mechs, explosions and overly-dramatic voice acting".
