Democrats test anti-Trump messages in Virginia House race

"There's the potential absolutely of Nevada turning blue this year, if they can get the turnout", said David Damore, a political-science professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Eastern in North Dakota, and at 10 p.m.in Nevada.

Here are 5 things to watch in the primaries tonight.

One of the hottest races is for the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic U.S. Senator Tim Kaine.

If you haven't registered to vote, it will be too late to vote in the primary, but you still have until October 15 to be able to vote in the November general election.

In the wake of the 2016 election of President Donald J. Trump-and the controversies, scandal and investigations that have embroiled the White House and Congress since-Democrats have surged to run for office, including at one time as many as 11 candidates for the seat.

On the Republican side, businessman Shawn Moody leads, with former Maine Heath and Human Services Director Mary Mayhew, Maine Senate Majority Leader Garrett Mason, and State House Minority Leader Ken Fredette not too far behind.

The Fourth Congressional District is also expected to be competitive come November.

Additionally, Republican voters across Virginia must decide which candidate will face Democratic incumbent Sen.

Nevada also has an interesting governor's race, with six Democrats and seven Republicans vying to run for a position that's been controlled by the GOP for almost 20 years.

SC and ME have contests for governor, but the outcome in the ME races to pick candidates to replace outgoing Republican Governor Paul LePage could be delayed as officials sort out the results in the new ranked-choice voting system. Clark County Commissioners Steve Sisolak and Clark County Commissioner Christina Giunchigliani are the front-runners among Democrats.

This is the first in a series of articles on the 2018 mid term elections in the 99 competitive races in the House of Representatives.

On election night, be sure to check in here to find results.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Ann Groves Lloyd's tweets include remarks calling former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney a "douche nozzle" and Gov. Scott Walker is her worst enemy, immoral and reprehensible.

The race receiving the most scrutiny is the 10th Congressional District, where six Democrats are vying for the chance to take on two-term GOP incumbent Barbara Comstock.

In the 1st District, three Democrats - Vangie Williams, John B. Suddarth and Edwin Santana Jr. - are running to take on Republican incumbent Rob Wittman.

Democrats are also on a long winning streak in Virginia.

"Just be aware that it is two elections", Cochran told WDBJ7, "Democratic primary, Republican primary". But the 10 also heavily favored Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, voting for the Democrat by almost 10 points.

Comstock faces her own primary challenge from the right.

As recently as the 1990s, Democrats and Republicans were fairly even divided in Nevada, a state that had supported Republican presidents including Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and his son, George W. Bush.

Although Sanford backed key Republican priorities in Congress such as cutting taxes and healthcare, and has been endorsed by major conservatives groups such as the Club for Growth, he has also been vocal with his criticism of Trump when they have disagreed.
