Cryptocurrency Ethereum Classic Soars on Coinbase Listing Plan

Cryptocurrency Ethereum Classic Soars on Coinbase Listing Plan

"We are announcing this both internally and to the public consistent with our process for adding new assets".

Ethereum Classic will first be listed on Coinbase Markets, Coinbase Pro, and Prime, after which Coinbase may add support.

The decision to add Ethereum Classic was sudden and unexpected by crypto-traders. Note that customers who previously had an Ethereum Classic balance on the platform as a result of the 2016 Ethereum hard fork and did not elect to withdraw their funds prior to January 2017 will receive a corresponding Ethereum Classic credit. Ethereum was only supported by GDAX during the hard fork and before that until July 2016. Whilst Ethereum Classic has not gone live on the listing just yet, Coinbase have confirmed that it's availability will become clear over the next few months, essentially, both Coinbase and Ethereum Classic are taking their time with this to ensure the roll out is seamless.

"LOL at people that don't trust Facebook with their data but trust @coinbase".

The second boost to Ethereum Classic today is the addition of Trading pairs on the world's largest crypto exchange platform - Binance.

"This will undoubtedly bring a new level of visibility to Ethereum Classic, which is a decentralized smart contract platform similar to Ethereum".

Ethereum Classic is an off-shoot of the better known Ethereum, and was created in 2016 by a faction of developers who objected to a modification of the original cryptocurrency.

Compared to Ethereum, Ethereum Classic is not that popular and is the 18th largest coin with a market cap of $1.5 billion. The coin is trading for $15.25, based on an average from a large number of exchanges, with a total cap of almost $1.6 billion. In the prolonged bear market we are now in, this is a huge gain. Coinbase have announced their next listing, stunningly in the form of Ethereum Classic. Ranking at the 16th position, BNB is now trading at $16.03 with a market cap of $1.82 billion. So far things are all on the brighter side for this currency when the entire market is thriving to stabilize itself.
