Video shows 11-year-old escaping Chicago-area carjacking

The footage shows the moment an 11-year-old girl who was inside the vehicle at the time of the carjacking jump out and roll in the petrol station.

Video from a service station shows the girl jumping out, before being comforted by her father, who had tried to stop the thieves.

Kayla Beasanski was in the backseat of her father's vehicle at a Chicago-area gas station where he was pumping gas when the incident took place, according to WGN-TV.

Security footage shows a man get into the Jeep Cherokee from the passenger side of a Dodge Charger and begin to drive off with 11-year-Kayla in the backseat.

Aurora police stated that both the girl and her father were unhurt in the carjacking incident.

Police say the 11 year-old girl, who is the vehicle owner's daughter, was still in the vehicle.

The girl's father could also be seen in surveillance video leaping onto the hood of the accomplice's auto as both vehicles speed away.

While authorities continue to look for Pulley's accomplice, they offer this advice: Don't make it easy on the bad guys.

The video then shows the girl getting up and the man walking back into the frame, and the two hug.

The suspect was eventually caught and has been identified as 20-year-old Tyrelle L Pulley from Chicago. His accomplice remains at large, police said.

The chase ended in a crash near First Avenue, where Pulley was arrested, according to police.

Aurora police sent out word to be on the lookout for the stolen Jeep and about an hour later, the Illinois State Police spotted the stolen Jeep Cherokee.

No one was injured in the crash.
