Trump submits financial disclosure; release expected soon

Trump's claim began to unravel early this month, however, after Rudy Giuliani, a new member of the president's legal team, said Trump had reimbursed Cohen for the sum paid to Daniels - and the president himself subsequently acknowledged the repayment. This suggests that federal investigators are probing his relationships with companies who made payments to his shell company, perhaps in connection with the investigation that led to the recent unusual raid on his office.

Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, tweeted, "Mr. Trump's disclosure today conclusively proves that the American people were deceived".

The Washington Post reports, however, that in a letter the ethics office sent to Rod J. Rosenstein, deputy attorney general, David J. Arpol indicated that, in fact, "the payment is required to be reported as a liability", raising questions about the president's failure to report the payment in last year's disclosure.

Also on Wednesday, the Senate Intelligence Committee backed up the American intelligence community's findings that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 United States election to help Mr Trump.

"And that's why the President affirmed it, yes", Giuliani said when asked if the financial disclosure process was the reason he revealed Trump paid Cohen back. Trump and Giuliani have clashed over what the president knew and when he knew it. The president denies the affair, and initially denied all knowledge of the payment, which Cohen has acknowledged was meant to stop her from going public with the allegations. "We've gotten assurances that we're not involved in it", Giuliani told "The Ingraham Angle" on Fox News. "Mr. Cohen sought reimbursement of those expenses and Mr. Trump fully reimbursed Mr. Cohen in 2017".

In a footnote in tiny type on Page 45 of his 92-page disclosure, Mr Trump said he reimbursed his lawyer for "expenses" ranging from $100,001 to $250,000.

Reporter: Mr. President, did you know about the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels? The agency reviewed the form and made it public on Wednesday.

Prosecutors are investigating Cohen for possible bank and tax fraud, possible campaign law violations linked to a hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, and perhaps other matters related to Trump's presidential campaign, a person familiar with the probe has said.

His Doral golf course and resort in Miami took in $75 million (€63m).

In his financial discloser form, Trump has listed assets of at least Dollars 1.4 billion and income of more than USD 452 million.

His Washington, D.C., hotel near the Oval Office, a magnet for diplomats and lobbyists, took in $40 million. Trump owes Deutsch Bank as much as $175 million.

The report also showed Trump earned between $230,000 and $1.1 million in capital gains income on stock in iPhone maker Apple, Caterpillar, Microsoft and Pepsico. Instead, he put his assets in a trust controlled by his two adult sons and a senior executive. Mr. Trump is also still picking up a Screen Actors Guild pension of almost $65,000 from his years as a reality TV host and sometime bit player in movies.

The official told the New Yorker they were anxious the information was being withheld from law enforcement, so they released the remaining documents.
