Priyanka Chopra starrer Quantico gets cancelled at ABC

The American Television network ABC has cancelled producing further seasons.

The Hollywood Reporter writes it's a surprise for the Kiefer Sutherland-led show, which had largely been expected to go for a season three.

ABC has made a decision to cancel their low-rated Quantico TV show so there won't be a fourth season. The third season of the show opened to lukewarm response and had 13 episodes as opposed to the previous seasons which had 22 episodes each. Priyanka plays the role of Federal Bureau of Investigation agent, Alex Parrish, in the series.

The third season of Quantico on ABC is averaging a meager 0.50 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.29 million viewers. Though the show has been profitable for ABC, it was a hard series to make logistically as production took place in Toronto, the writers room is in Los Angeles, and creator David Guggenheim is based in NY. The cancelations of series like Quantico, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Designated Survivor, and Lucifer are making space for new programmes in the fall.

Other shows to have been cancelled include courageous and J Lo's show Shades of Blue on NBC.

Actor Kal Penn, quoting the story, tweeted to Priyanka, "Hey @priyankachopra let's do a movie".

Created by Joshua Safran, Quantico starred Priyanka Chopra as Alex Parrish with a cast that included Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy, Russell Tovey, Alan Powell, Marlee Matlin and Blair Underwood.
