Next 'Arrowverse' Crossover Will Bring in Batwoman!

In the first-ever time the winged heroine appears on a screen of any kind, Batwoman will be introduced to the CW's Arrowverse in the television universe's next crossover event. The character will be "fighting alongside" The CW's heroes, Amell said, with the crossover airing in December. Previously, Arrow once name-dropped Bruce Wayne, in an ad-lib suggested by Amell.

The Arrowverse crossover event brings together all the superheroes from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow into one space.

Pedowitz chimed in after Amell's giddy words, revealing that the upcoming crossover will also introduce Gotham City - an expected extension given Batwoman's backstory.

Of course, details about the latest crossover are pretty limited. Yeah, it's as buckwild as it sounds, which is the biggest appeal of the crossover events - they're silly, loud, and fully embrace their comic book weirdness.

Kate Kane is one of the most exciting developments in the Arrowverse to look forward to next season. And the first member of the Batfamily will also appear, though it's Batwoman and not ... well, you know.

Batwoman is the identity of Kate Kane, first introduced as Kathy Kane in 1956's Detective Comics #233.

The character is a wealthy heiress who, inspired by Batman's heroics, decides to put her wealth to good use and fight crime as a masked vigilante, with numerous same skills as the Caped Crusader. Like Supergirl with Superman, she can have adventures of her own while barely brushing shoulders with Batman.

It was noted Batwoman will not cross over into Fox's show Gotham. But this still potentially opens the doors for a Batman appearance.
