The Royal Windsor Horse Show is a five-day event which takes place inside the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Edinburgh has given royal fans hoping to see him at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding a boost after he appeared at a major horse show. It's the first time he's been seen since the operation.

LONDON-Queen Elizabeth II's husband Prince Philip has made his first public appearance since leaving the hospital after hip replacement surgery on April 13.

Philip was photographed sitting at the wheel of a 4×4, chatting to the Queen through the vehicle's open window.

Shortly after the Duke of Edinburgh left the hospital, Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying "His Royal Highness would like to convey his appreciation for the messages of good wishes he has received". Prince Philip retired this month from his official royal duties.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, would be attending the wedding to walk his daughter up the aisle on the special day.

There had been some doubts over whether he would be well enough to go.

About 100,000 spectators are expected to flock to Windsor to join the wedding celebrations and watch the newlyweds' carriage procession after they exchange vows at the castle's St George's Chapel.

Prince Philip was spotted out and in good spirits on Friday in Windsor, England.

The only other member of the Royal Family who has been confirmed not to attend is Prince Louis who will not even be one month old by the time of the wedding.
