Calif. Parents Charged After 10 Kids Removed From Home

The matter unfolded March 31 when the oldest child, a 12-year-old boy described as developmentally delayed with the capacity of an 8-year-old, disappeared from his house in the 2000 block of Fieldstone Court. The boy was asleep under a bush in the yard of a nearby home.

At a press conference Monday, Solano County Chief Deputy District Attorney Sharon Henry said she was "horrified" by the statements made by several of the victims and that "as a parent, first and foremost in my heart. we believe these children deserve justice".

The alleged abuse was done with "sadistic goal", Henry said during a news conference. Authorities report that the children have described incidents of "intentional abuse". All ten children were taken into protective custody by Solano County Child Welfare Services.

Jonathan Allen, who is the biological father of some of the children has been reportedly taken into custody.

Arraigned Monday in Solano County Superior Court, Allen pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was being held in Solano County Jail in lieu of $1.5 million bail. Then, on Friday, 29-year-old Jonathan Allen - who is the father of the majority of the children, according to Rogers - was also arrested, charged with nine counts of felony torture and six counts of felony child abuse.

He says 29-year-old father Jonathan Allen faces nine counts of felony torture and 30-year-old mother Ina Rogers faces child neglect charges.

On Monday she showed reporters the family's four-bedroom home, denied abusing the children and said that she is being judged for having a large family and home-schooling them.

More than a month after a California mother was arrested for allegedly torturing and abusing her 10 children in Fairfield, the local police in a statement said the kids were living in "squalor and unsafe conditions".

Rogers told the media that the reason the home was in disarray was because she tore up her house looking for her missing child.

Rogers informed reporters she's shocked police had leveled essentially the most severe accusations in opposition to her husband, as he was not the disciplinarian of the household.

"There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing", Rogers told reporters in front of her house.

Throughout the tour, the four-bedroom home in Fairfield, 46 miles (74 kilometers) northeast of San Francisco, was messy with scuffed partitions and animal feces within the lavatory.

Rogers was arrested and released after posting $10,000 bail on April 9. "My husband has a lot of tattoos". Rogers said she works the graveyard shift as an EKG technician at a heart monitoring company and that Allen is a tattoo artist.

During the search officers located nine more children, ranging in age from 4 months to 11-years-old.

"It's embarrassing", she said.

Weeks after Jonathan Allen's arrest, Fairfield Police brought new and horrific details to light about Jonathan's parenting methods. "He looks like a scary individual and that's why people are so quick to judge him". "However I do not know how one can hold it quiet when you could have 10 children. But absolutely not. My husband is an fantastic person".

Peggy Allen, the mom of Jonathan Allen, stated she had talked to Rogers concerning the situation of the house, saying it was vital to maintain a clear home.
