Bryant signs letter supporting President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination

Seven Republican governors signed a letter supporting President Donald Trump's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize for his ongoing efforts to create peace with North Korea. The leaders of North and South Korea held a historic summit at the Korean peninsula's heavily militarized border last month, ahead of a planned meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. "We're not there yet, but if this happens, President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize".

McMaster is one of six Republican Governors who wrote to the Nobel Committee Chairman this week.

McMaster was an early Trump supporter in the 2016 election. Nikki Haley as his United Nations ambassador. The president appeared at an October fundraiser, and McMaster has featured footage from that event prominently in his television ads. The governors' letter came amid reports from South Korea's Yonhap News Agency that North Korea was canceling a high-level meeting planned between the two countries due to the ongoing military exercises between the USA and South Korea.

The governors who signed the letter are Henry McMaster of South Carolina, Kay Ivey of Alabama, Jeff Colyer of Kansas, Paul R. LePage of Maine, Phil Bryant of Mississippi, Jim Justice of West Virginia, and Eddie Baza Calvo of the USA territory of Guam.

"Donald Trump convinced North Korea and China he was serious about bringing about change", Graham said in a tweet.
