'Arrested Development' Season 5 Trailer Released

Arrested Development ushered in the revival era of television when it came back from the dead in 2013.

The long-awaited Season 5 ofArrested Development is almost here.

Netflix released a trailer for "Arrested Development" season 5 on Monday, revealing a surprisingly close release date: May 29, 2018.

The Bluths are back, baby!

And good grief almighty, a trailer has just dropped, which gives us some tidbits of what's to come for those insane Bluths: (1) Lindsay's running for political office!

After an uneven fourth season saw each character siloed off into their own individual episodes, with limited interactions with the rest of the cast, it seems Season 5 will return to the ensemble dynamic of the show's original run on Fox. This new version re-edits the season with shorter episodes to resemble the show's first three seasons.

In other surprising notable news from the trailer, it appears that Lindsey (Portia De Rossi) is running for office, Buster (Tony Hale) has finally ditched his hook for a more practical prosthetic hand, and Maeby (Alia Shawkat) has traded her bushy brown locks for a sleek silver hairdo. Unlike in Season 4, where most of the Bluths were paired off and separated from one another, this time the story will bring all of the Bluths together under one roof. And we're all going to be eating frozen bananas and committing light treason sooner than you think.

Clearly, we can expect one or two jabs at the first family in the new season. This is significant because Tambor was sacked as the lead of Amazon's Transparent following sexual harassment allegations.
