Apple Watch Series 3 with built-in LTE compatibility launched in India

The watch, which comes in several variants, can now be purchased from Jio stores and Reliance Digital outlets. The Apple Watch Nike+ variant is priced at Rs. 39,130 for the base variant and the Apple Watch Edition is priced at Rs. 1,18,030 for the 38mm model. This essentially means that iOS users can use the Apple Watch as alternative to the iPhone.

It comes with a daylong battery life (almost 18 hours under mixed usage) and comes with an array of sensors such as the heart-rate sensor and biometric altimeter.

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio is offering the latest offering from Apple - Apple Watch Series 3 - across its stores. And also, Apple Watch will also be able to help diabetic device owners to keep a tab on their health via connected blood sugar monitor.

The person you're calling will see your Jio mobile number (This is the same number they will see when you call from your iPhone). For example, if you have your watch on your hand and head out for a run in the morning, the Watch, when out of the BT or Wi-Fi network range, will automatically switch to LTE mode and ensure you get your calls, SMS and other data services you hold on your Watch. The third generation of Apple Watch was announced a year ago in September and since then only the Global Positioning System variant of the watch has been on sale in India. The operating system brings native support for important applications such as Apple Music and Siri.

Apple Watch Series 3 is also rated under the ISO 22810:2010 standard making it resistant to water up to 50 meters.

Apple Watch Series 3 with built-in LTE has gone on sale in India through the country's two most prominent telecom operators - Reliance Jio and Airtel. Jio has announced that it will give Apple Watch LTER customers access to priority delivery and installation of the product at home by experts. Apple Watch LTE is compatible with all Jio phone numbers with any data plan. Apple has partnered with Reliance Jio and Airtel in India for now, while other telecom providers such as Vodafone and Idea are yet to get ready for their eSIM services.

As for launch offers, Airtel customers are entitled to an additional cashback of Rs. 5,000 on payment through ICICI Credit EMI transactions. To get started with Apple Watch, Airtel customers will need to have My Plan or Infinity postpaid plan.

Jio is a game-changing network for India and for Indians and has been consistently ranked the fastest network in the country with the widest availability.
