Trump administration gets an 'A-plus' from none other than Trump himself

"Well I better not get into that because I may get into trouble", Trump told the hosts of Fox and Friends when asked what he bought for the first lady, who turned 48 years old Thursday.

United States president Donald Trump on Thursday said he would give himself "A plus" for the performance of his administration in more than a year.

The president appeared on "Fox & Friends" Thursday morning, saying that the interview was in honor of his wife's April 26 birthday.

"I would always watch, now frankly I don't have time for two reasons: there is too much, and I don't have time", Trump explained.

He then said he got her attractive flowers and a card. "You know, I'm very busy to be running out looking for presents, okay?"

"I will say this, Anderson Cooper was surprisingly tough and he did a good job", Trump conceded. "I said, 'Let's do it on Melania's birthday.' Happy birthday, Melania", Trump said on air.

Similar drama unfolded during the president's first trip to the Middle East last May, when Melania Trump swatted his hand away on a Tel Aviv tarmac in full view of cameras.

Trump additionally congratulated the primary woman for her work in planning the administration's first state go to for French President Emmanuel Macron, together with Tuesday night's lavish state dinner within the White Home. "You would think that these guys would treat me great", he added.
