Seven Killed In Army, Boko Haram Clash

At least twelve people have been feared killed in suicide bomb attack at Bama, Borno second largest town.

Most of the victims are recently returned Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who have just been resettled by the Borno state government.

Abacha said two female bombers sneaked into the mosque at the time Muslim faithful were observing early morning prayers.

Bama town is some of 76 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Notwithstanding the caution, the displaced persons, eager to return to their normal lives, were allowed to return to Bama.

Chukwu said that the Boko Haram terrorist was killed during exchange of fire while other members of the group fled.

The chairman noted that the state government, in collaboration with the military, police and other security agencies had deployed personnel and constructed trenches to fortify security in the town. Emergency teams in Bama told Daily Trust on phone.

"2 suicide bombers (Male and female) of approximate age 13 to 14 years invaded a mosque around BAMA Dina area of Shehuri /Mairi/ Hausari ward of Bama town at about 5:15am this morning and detonated IEDs when people are in the middle of prayers", it disclosed. Two of the men were Boko Haram Amirs (Commanders), while the third man was a Boko Haram Medic, who provided medical treatments to wounded insurgents in the field.

The police, in a statement released on Sunday afternoon confirmed the attack and casualty.
