Rape and Murder of Asifa Justice will be delivered Says Mehbooba Mufti

"I commend the manner in which the people of Jammu dismissed communal forces and were unwavering in their support for a little girl."It has strengthened my belief that Jammu serves as a model of inclusiveness and together the people of J-K inspire secular unity and righteousness", Mufti said in a tweet".

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday sent the resignations of two of its ministers in the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, PTI reported.

The eight-year-old girl, who went missing on January 12, was found dead on January 17 based on a tip off by a local.

The Chief Minister has also called a meeting of party legislators and senior leaders to discuss the course of action to ensure that the victim gets justice. "Therefore, keeping in mind the perception and general situation, the two BJP leaders, after holding consultations with the prime minister and other senior leaders of the party, chose to submit their resignations".

He said the investigations had been completed by the state Crime Branch and a charge sheet had been presented in the court.

Sources said that in their resignation letters, sources said, Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga stated that they were offering resignations to the State party president as they felt that image of the party has been dented by the propaganda unleashed against them.

Madhav maintained that the two BJP leaders had gone to Kathua in March to pacify the public and also to look into the matter of the gruesome crime. They had never supported the accused.

The minor girl from the Bakerwal community was kidnapped on January 10 and taken to a temple in Rasana village in Kathua district.

"Certain amount of discretion should have been maintained".

"What rubbish! They are HER ministers, not the Hon (ourable) PM's".

Madhav accused the Congress party of playing double standards.

He said the Mehbooba Mufti-led coalition government in the state had been told to withdraw the directive concerning Tribal with regard to encroachments in Jammu.
