More snow, unseasonable cold on tap Tuesday

More snow, unseasonable cold on tap Tuesday

Wednesday will not be as cold but clouds will increase and there may be a shower toward evening. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tonight: Cloudy, with a 60 percent chance of rain and snow showers before 7 p.m., then a chance of snow showers.

Tsaparis said skies over Madison should be partly cloudy Tuesday, mostly cloudy Wednesday and Thursday, mostly to partly sunny Friday, partly sunny Saturday, mostly sunny Sunday, partly sunny Monday, and mostly cloudy next Tuesday, with highs near 37, 38, 41, 47, 54, 57, 59 and 59, and overnight lows around 26, 29, 23, 30, 31, 35, 38 and 40. Not to mention, the icing that occurred in the highest elevations of the Poconos over the last two days.

As far as numbers go, expect most areas to be well under an inch, with a few areas of the Thumb possibly reaching around an inch or so. Low around 33. West wind around 14 miles per hour.

The weather service said there is a slight chance of rain and snow Friday, with a high in the lower 50s. At first, roads were too wet and warm for the snow to stick but as temperatures fell Sunday night the roads started to freeze and snow began accumulating and that means travel issues.

The average daytime high temperature for this week in Buffalo is in the mid- to upper 50s, however, every day this week is forecast to remain below-normal. Westerly breezes could occasionally gust to 25 miles-per-hour adding an extra chill to the air. High temperatures climb back into the upper 50s. Snow and rain showers are likely Thursday. Unsettled and colder Thursday.
