Fortnite patch notes: V3.5 adds new weapons and tweaked modes

Fortnite's official Twitter account acknowledged the issues while the games server status page revealed there was a "major outage".

On Thursday however, it seemed that the maintenance rather ruined some aspects of the game's server performance, and users we're struggling to log into the game.

Update V.3.5.1 has addressed a building edit on PC involving the G key bind, sprinting issue where weapons could be fired faster than intended and an animation glitch with the Guided Missile.

When will the servers be back up?

It's worth pointing out that this is, as far as we know, an Epic-wide issue and not one just related to Fortnite, but let's be honest: nobody really cares about anything else. Epic Games is working on a fix and stated that they were taking the servers offline for maintenance but did not state when the servers will be back. The game is also now available on the iOS platform for free.

"Login is now blocked across all Epic endpoints, including games, websites, and the Epic Games Launcher", Epic said yesterday at approximately 5:45 p.m. ET.

For Battle Royale players, this weekend we'll be offering a Back Bling gift that you can pick up in the store for free.

This comes after Drake played "Fortnite" with streamer Ninja on Twitch and they broke a record for the number of streams. Epic Games are clearly not going to want this disruption to last any longer than necessary and with any luck, they should be running again before the end of today.

The next obstacle for Epic, the developers of Fornite, is to keep the game interesting and not letting it die out. Epic has millions of people trying to play it at one time, and that is a strain on servers. According to their tweet, "Due to an animation issue with the Guided Missile, we're temporarily disabling it until we have a fix". His latest attempt at making a video game ended horribly with the multiplayer online arena shooter LawBreakers barely making a dent in the market.
