Ed Sheeran Rumoured to Join Danny Boyle's Beatles Film

Previously, Sheeran has appeared in an episode of Game of Thrones, The Bastard Executioner, The Simpsons, Bridget Jones' Baby, Undateable and Home and Away. It's certainly a trippy premise, if the news from the Daily Mail can be believed.

Now, he's rumored to be in talks to appear in an upcoming comedy movie, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis. Yet according to the Daily Mail, his involvement in this film will land more on the musical end of the spectrum - through his friendship with Curtis, Sheeran's reportedly contributing songs to the soundtrack, with plans to make "a performance cameo" onscreen.

A source close to Working Title, the studio that is making the film, said: "Everything Ed touches turns to gold." .

'He is the biggest hit-maker on the planet.

Hot off the presses comes news this morning that superstar musician Ed Sheeran is set to join the Richard Curtis scripted and Danny Boyle directed musical comedy now in development.

The Working Title pic, backed by Universal, is due to star Cinderella actress Lily James alongside actor Himesh Patel, known for his work in popular Brit TV series Eastenders. "If anyone can make a film about the Beatles' songs even better musically, it's him". Kate McKinnon ("SNL") is said to be in talks too, Deadline reported, with filming scheduled for this summer. Plot details are being kept under wraps. Although the as-yet-untitled movie is a musical comedy, it's unclear whether Sheeran will be contributing one of his Caribbean-inflected songs to the soundtrack, or whether he'll be exclusively in an on-camera role.
