Driving Ban and Large Fine for Ant McPartlin

McPartlin, who lives in Chiswick, west London, was arrested at around 4pm on March 18th after a failing a roadside breathalyser test in Richmond, west London, following a collision between the Mini he was driving and two other cars.

He also received a 20-month driving ban and has also been ordered to pay other associated costs totalling £390.

The charge stated he had 75 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, meaning he was twice over the limit.

She added: "I think it will have quite an impact on you to know you're no longer a man of good character".

McPartlin has been banned from driving and fined for a drink driving crash that took place last month.

Prosecutor Katie Sinnett-Jones told the court McPartlin was driving around a "sharp bend and lost control" during the crash as he collided with another Mini Cooper before driving, according to Sinnett Jones, "straight into the front of an oncoming car".

He said: "Anthony McPartlin is sorry and is doing everything he can to ensure this never happens again". He said he was "ashamed and mortified" by his actions. He said, "I accept full culpability for this and wish to apologise to all those concerned".

The court was told that that Mr McPartlin was receiving treatment for "alcohol and emotional issues".

After he was charged, ITV announced Ant would step down from his TV commitments on Saturday Night Takeaway, with co-presenter and BFF Declan Donnelly hosting the final two episodes of the show in Florida on his own.

At the time a statement from McPartlin's publicist added: "Ant has chose to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments".
