Apple will fix Apple Watch Series 2 for free

"Apple has determined that under certain conditions, some Apple Watch Series 2 devices may not power on or they may experience an expanded battery", states an internal document distributed to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers, according to MacRumors.

It's an issue that's plagued Apple Watches ever since the introduction of the first model, known as the Apple Watch Series 1, back in April 2015 - three years ago.

If you're wondering what models are regarded as eligible devices, you should note it down that the Apple Watch Series 2 in 42mm size which can be the Sports, Nike+, Hermes or even the Apple Watch Edition variant. So The watch do not have to be under any warranty also. If your device falls into a certain category after a physical device assessment, Apple will fix the device for free.

The bulging battery issue is affecting some Apple Watch Series 2 devices.

The first-generation Apple Watch (Series o) seemingly suffered from the same problem, with Apple implementing a similar 3-year fix program for affected users.
