Vu launches Android Smart 4K LED TVs, CEO attacks Xiaomi

Xiaomi's budget Smart LED Mi TV 4A series is all set to go on sale in India on Tuesday. The 4K Smart TV operates on the latest and licensed operating system of Android 7.0 Nougat.

All the models are powered by quad-core processors with 2.5GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage space. The 43-inch Mi TV 4A also gets quad-core Amlogic T962 chipset based on Core A53 CPU with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Keeping in mind the Indian context, the audio been optimised for India.

The electronic device Xiaomi Mi TV 4 also has a specified that the second sale is all set to take place on this Friday, 16 March, 2018. The TV's support Dual Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and have 3 x HDMI, 2 x USB, Ethernet Port for increased connectivity. The TVs also support Google Chromecast allowing you to cast movies and shows from your Android, iOS, Mac, Windows or Chromebook to the TV.

While one would naturally assume that the new Vu 4K UHD TVs come as a direct competition to Xiaomi's Mi TV 4, Vu says it is largely targeting high-end brands like Sony and Sharp whose Smart 4K UHD TVs typically cross the Rs 1 lakh mark. The range is called Vu Official Android TV and features three different models of 55-inch (55SU138), 49-inch (49SU131), and 43-inch (43SU128).

The Mi TV 4A 32-inch model runs PatchWall UI based on Android that offers a streamlined video experience across all of your video sources. This is their latest launch in the smart TV category and the company is hoping that it will see excellent traction in the Indian market because they have official access to the Google Play Store, YouTube, Google Games, and the complete Google ecosystem. The Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4 also comes with the same display resolution, but its bezel-less display and frameless design claims to offer a better user experience in this price segment.

This 43-inch model sports a full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, at the same time, as the 32-inch model has an HD (1366×768 pixels) display. The company also claims that nearly 80 per cent of this content is free.

Cost competitive when compared to the 55-inch Mi TV 4 offering, however, the Xiaomi television also offers HDR support apart from its 4K resolution.

The distinct features of these TVs are their ActiVoice feature.

This company stated that audio been optimized for India, in terms of loudness.
